LOS ANGELES – PlayStation Portable owners will get to see more of “The Longest Yard” than anyone else. Paramount Pictures said Wednesday that it is making movie-related original content available for free download onto Sony’s sleek new portable media and gaming device.

Consumers can get the exclusive episodic video along with the trailer from the Adam Sandler feature, which will be released May 27, by visiting 29HD Network at 29guide.com.

Paramount Pictures vice president interactive marketing Amy Powell said it was a new and creative way to reach a demographic that is increasingly hard to find using traditional methods.

“As they’re migrating away from television, they’re spending more time with games, and this is an innovative way to reach them,” she said. “For us, it’s such a fun movie that it’s appropriate to match it up with this fun, new application.”

PSP’s mobile nature is another bonus, she said, because it gives Paramount the ability to reach moviegoers while they’re on the go.

Consumers have to install 29HD Network’s iPSP Movie Loader application, but after that selected programs can be downloaded with a single click.

Presented by Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures, “The Longest Yard” is a Happy Madison/MTV Films production in association with Callahan Filmworks. It is directed by Peter Segal and stars Sandler, Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds. Jack Giarraputo is the producer. The executive producers are Van Toffler, David Gale, Barry Bernardi, Allen Covert, Tim Herlihy, Michael Ewing and Albert S. Ruddy.
