2K Games officially announces Mafia 2

A few days after Take-Two Interactive‘s confirmation of a sequel for the mobster game Mafia, 2K Games has released an official announcement for Mafia 2.

Illusion Softworks, the same guys behind the original Mafia, is currently developing the sequel for next generation video game consoles as well as the Games for Windows platform. Mafia 2 will once again be set in a fictitious late 1940’s-early 1950’s scenario where players will become entangled in the mob underworld of that era.

The trailer’s still nowhere in sight, though, but we’ll be on the lookout for that. For now, check out these screenshots from the official Mafia 2 website, which you can access by clicking on the Read link below.
