AFKIM PSP Messenger - Image 1

Homebrew developer Zx-81 has posted yet another update to Danzel‘s ever-useful AFKIM, an instant messenger application for the Sony PlayStation Portable. Some serious bugs are squished in this update, including the the resolving loop message that plagued users in version 3.3.3. Refer to the following capsule changelog for details about the fixes:

  • Fix issue with ICQ / AOL account icon / login stuff (due to bitlbee server changes)
  • Fix IR keyboard issue with fw >= 3.80 for FAT PSP (thanks to Angelo)
  • Fix online status issue

Those who were bitten by the rather annoying “resolving” loop message bug do the following, according to zx-81:

For those who encountered the “resolving” loop message, you have to replace the name of the server in the im.bitlbee.cfg by the corresponding IP address (for example im.bitlbee.org -> 195.85.225.201)

You can grab the updated version of zx-81’s AFKIM from the download link below, which includes the source code and  versions of the software appropriate for firmwares 1.50 and 3x. As always, check out the readme file before you jump in and install AFKIM for optimum results.
