Alien Syndrome Wii delayed in Europe

Alien Syndrome Wii delayed in Europe - Image 1Gaming site NGCFrance reports that video game title Alien Syndrome for Wii will not be released as scheduled in Europe. Instead of being available on June 23, the game now has a new release schedule of July 13. What’s curious is that no reason or explanation was given for the delay.

Alien Syndrome actually started as an arcade game back in 1987. All succeeding versions until the one on the Game Gear back in 1992 were developed and published by Sega. The title is a run and gun game where players control soldiers Ricky and Mary whose objective is to rescue their comrades being held captive by alien intruders.

The new title, which will be appearing on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) platform as well, is not a port. It is actually a re-start of the franchise and takes place a century after the previous games.

The new Alien Syndrome features new character Aileen Harding. RPG elements also have been incorporated into the gameplay. The game has a total of 15 different levels with five main bosses and 15 sub-bosses. Aside from being able to access a total of 80 different weapons, players will also have the option to fully optimize their characters.
