PSP - Image 1

PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Red_Squirrel dropped by the QJ.NET forums today to bring us the updated version of Alternative VSHMenu, a plugin that pretty much gives the M33 VSHMenu a lot of extra (and very handy) features to play around with. This update isn’t that meaty in terms of changes and updates, but it’s definitely the homebrew app to look at if you want your VSHMenu to be a little more filled-out.

Here’s what changed from the last version of Red_Squirrel’s Alternative VSHMenu:

v4.1

  • Added German, Italian and French translations.
  • Added a tool to flash the plugin in Flash0 (so you can free a space for a new plugin in your PSP!)

The homebrew dev also gave PSP Slim users helpful notes on installing Alternative VSHMenu:

Note: if you have a PSP Slim, you must to rename pspbtjnf_02g.bin, pspbtlnf_02g.bin and pspbtknf_02g.bin in pspbtjnf.bin, pspbtlnf.bin and pspbtknf.bin and then follow the guide inserted in Patch2Flash folder! At the end rename patched file (pspbtjnf.bin, pspbtlnf.bin and pspbtknf.bin) in pspbtjnf_02g.bin, pspbtlnf_02g.bin and pspbtknf_02g.bin and overwrite the existings in Flash0! It should work without problems, but make always a backup of your files before to patch, for security

Once again, if you’re puzzled as how to use this particular homebrew (or any other homebrew for that matter), then all you have to do is to check out the readme file bundled in the downloadable archive below. With that, enjoy!
