Another look at Wii ads at uk.wii.com and YouTube

The resolution is not top-notch, but it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to watch it, and it never fails to entertain.

A Wii ad is exactly like the Wii.

They promised Wii ads would invade TV sets in an effort to get people interested (including non-gamers, because non-gamers are people too). And they’re doing it.

If you want to watch the Wii TV ads, you can always head on over to uk.wii.com – it has a collection of ads from Japan (naturally) and UK (and Ireland if reports are correct). Our favorite ad in this set is the one in the top left: your usual Wii experience video. By the way, none of the ads here are new (they’re from November 21), but we thought you’d like to know about the page and check back from time to time.

Wii ads

Compare and contrast them. We prefer the “Wii would like to play” ads from earlier this month – the two Japanese guys in the Wii-mobile getting people to play the Wii. The ad really captured the spirit (and hype) of the Wii – and we thought it would be cool if Nintendo kept the same campaign worldwide. A sort of “one world, one Wii” kind of thing: the world unites thanks to two nice guys in a teensy white car with a teensy white console.

YouTube. Meanwhile, a good place for Wii ads is Wii’s account at YouTube (click here). Finally, if you still don’t have a Wii of your own, just wait a few more days. The Americas continue to get shipments, while Europe and Japan and the rest of the world will launch the Wii soon!
