Are PvP servers more fun?

On the World of Warcraft PvP servers, there are people of all kinds, such as newbies who run at the sight of other characters from the opposing faction, to the battle-hardened veteran who kill for sport or gain (usually both). The funniest and most amusing stories come from the latter and it’s that kind of story which was posted at the WoW Europe forums.

You see, a dwarf paladin was killing a few Harvest Golems when two Horde players just stood behind him. Now, he panicked and started running. He never realized that he had to be flagged in order to be attacked. These two Horde players just followed this character around until the dwarf decided to jump into the ocean and swim away. What happened to the poor paladin after, nobody knows.

Blizzard Poster/ Moderator Ommra shared a story which was pretty much the same. It ended on a happy note though with Ommra and members from the opposite side dancing together.

Quite a few players would agree that this is the fun of being in the PvP server. The nervousness one gets in getting from one point to the next, never knowing when a patrol of higher leveled players would pass by and kill him. For players who prefer to role-play, being in a PvP server actually makes players feel the social enmity between the Horde and Alliance.

On the downside, it is more difficult to climb the ranks with higher leveled characters seeing you as target practice. In addition, there are a lot of competitive players who may not be as nice as those you can find in PvE servers. So is this a call to play in a PvP server? If you can hack it, why not? Try something new and experience playing in a PvP server, it might actually be fun.
