August Sales of Video Games Increase By Over 17%
The NPD group has revealed its data that shows the sales of video games for the month of August rose to 17.5% more than last year’s.
Electronic Arts‘ Madden 07 dominated sales with over 1.8 million copies grabbed in all of its various ports for the month, with its PS2 version selling 850,000 units. Dead Rising, Capcom‘s Xbox 360 game title, also sits high up the chart with 330,000 units, thus making it to the top three best selling game for the month, inspite of the news earlier that it spells trouble for the Xbox 360.
The total sales of hardware and software were tagged at $397 million.
