Beenox Studios - Image 1Beenox, one of Activison’s development studios, is pretty well known for porting games such as Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (PS2, PS3, PSP, DS, Wii, Xbox 360) and Shrek The Third  (Wii, Xbox 360, PC, PS2, DS, GBA) to multiple formats. Well, it appears that the company has been tapped to port a James Bond game for the Wii.

According to the creative director of Beenox, Thomas Wilson, they’re currently working on a James Bond 007 Wii title in conjunction with Treyarch. He added that they’re doing it because “we’re really good at what we’re doing and Activision doesn’t want to send their ports anywhere else.”

Porting the game to the Wii is no easy project. Wilson mentioned a few of the things they have to keep in mind when they covert the game for the Wii. However, on top of that list however seems to be the control scheme of the game. Here’s what he had to say:

One thing we want to make sure of if we’re making the Wii version is that we absolutely want the controls to be top notch. Although we don’t fully control the original development content because it’s in collaboration with Treyarch, that’s one thing that we can do – make sure we put out a strong Wii title.

That said, we’re pretty sure that you want to know how the game is going. Well, you might be surprised to know that Beenox is working at a slightly faster pace than the game being developed is. So to end, we’d like to leave you with a quick update on the title from Thomas Wilson:

We’re almost ahead of the title that is being developed with Treyarch at the moment, so we’re saying that we’re ready and waiting for stuff. That’s the Beenox way of doing things, we don’t want to waste time, we want to be productive.
