This triggered a host of violent reactions from awaiting gamers, who immediately assumed that this DLC will be charged. BioWare has now sent out an official statement to clear the air.

According to BioWare VP of marketing Patrick Buechner, it simply isn’t true that it will be charged. Heading off to Twitter to make the official statement, he said: “Mass Effect 2 won’t be charging for DLC on launch day. BioWare will have more DLC details next week.”

Maybe it won’t be charged on launch day because it’s not coming out on that day? It’s next week anyway; we’ll find out soon enough.
