BioWare: Mass Effect NOT in September, capiche?

Mass Effect from BioWare, NOT in September... NOT dated yet, to begin with - Image 1

In a recent report from CVG, Mass Effect‘s release was pegged with a big yellow banner (painted with ponies and butterflies and freaky, drooling aliens) saying “September” clearly. And quite a lot of us remained hopeful, despite it getting delayed. Because for some, getting a release date, delayed as it might be, was better than no date at all.

But apparently, even that is being taken away from us. A new thread dated April 23 popped up in the community site of BioWare. This thread was regarding CVG’s recent “September” report. And after nine full pages of replies from forum members, community coordinator Christ Priestly swooped in for the lockdown:

*sigh* Why is this still open?

We do not yet have a release date: Click Here

When we do have a release date, we will make it known here on the boards.

Angry emoticons and signature quotes that start “Like a great predatory piano, I sit silent in the darkness” aside, guess they’re sticking to their previous statement as linked in Priestly’s post. That “Click Here” link will bring you to an April 16 post titled “No release date or rating for Mass Effect yet.

Ok. So what does this leave us with? Well, for one thing, it’s not September anymore. Fine. But the good part is this: the game could very well be on track and not be delayed after all!
