Taking off from the U.S. side’s most memorable of community managers, we managed to put up a catchy title that you World of Warcraft players on the North American realms would recognize. But perhaps it’s mostly misleading, because what your trusty WoW blogger has lined up for you isn’t exactly from the American realms: it’s from the European realms.
In cohesion with Big Blue’s efforts to banish evil botters from the World (of Warcraft), more than 114,000 accounts in World of Warcraft Europe have been banned and closed for the month of April. All these accounts have been officially confirmed as in violation of Blizzard‘s Terms of Use (ToU), using third-party programs to automate gameplay.
Also, it seems that the lazy World of Warcraft gamer will have a hard time ahead as Blizzard Europe will be continuing to investigate suspicious gameplay mannerisms and actions that are reminiscent of a botting program. They will also enforce strict rules and movements against in-game advertising and power-levelling services.
But for the robotic-like grinder, don’t worry about having to change your gameplay style. Dancing bovine Ommra reiterated, “I would prefer some more evidence than that before permanently banning an account… Can you imagine the outcry if we banned accounts that turned out not to be botters?”
