Brothers In Arms 3 – New Info

Some new information on the next Brothers in Arms game from Gearbox Software has surfaced in the pages of this months PSM. The game, now titled, Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway will incorporate the following multiplayer and single player features.

– There will indeed be online play.

-Expectations are high at Gearbox – Matches are designed to accommodate at least 32 players, likely more.

– Players will have the ability to create their own squads, “as well as large-scale units like platoons (think Halo’s clans)”

-A custom-built matchmaking engine that automatically generates squads based on skill level and experience.

-There will be no load times between cinematics sequences and actual gameplay. important instances during gameplay will be emphasised. “This might include a fellow soldier taking three shots to the chest, or a Nazi ducking behind cover and calling for backup.”

-Players will take control of up to 3 squads during the game.

-The 3rd squad will be heavy infantry, and will carry bazookas, mortars, and heavy machine guns, as well as a radioman capable of calling in for air strikes.

-Enemy suppression indicators have been reduced in size, you can now give commands while jumping over walls.

Sounds great huh? Is it possible that the extremely crowded WW2 first person shooter sub-genre might be getting a much needed shot in the arm?

It should also be noted that all this information pertains to the PS3 version of the game, no concrete information has yet come to light about what to expect from the 360 version, but you can bet we’ll get it to you as soon as it’s available.
