Bus Driver fired for playing GTA… While driving

Yea, this is one of those, “what was he thinking” situations. I really don’t think the old excuse “it seemed like a good idea at the time” applies here. Apparently the driver of the Bus, Steve Allcock was caught by the on-board CCTV camera playing Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories while stopped at bus stops, stop lights, and even while driving. Bosses fired him after on-board CCTV footage showed he had the handheld device on his knees.

Steve’s boss, Michael Morton, from Blackburn Transport was quoted as saying: “The driver was interviewed and we feel weÂ’ve taken appropriate disciplinary action. We take a very dim view of drivers using any sort of device that will distract them. Our ultimate concern is the safety of passengers.”
