Monster Hunter Tri - Image 1Capcom‘s all ready to ship out the latest iteration in the über-popular Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Tri, in Japan this Saturday. So ready for the oncoming stampede, in fact, that they have shipped out over one million units already in prep for the launch.

This figure stands to be significant because this becomes the first ever third party Wii game to ship out over 1 million unites in Japan. The whole MH franchise has proven to be highly successful in Japan thus far, having surpassed the 10 million units shipped mark.

To be released for the Nintendo Wii,  Monster Hunter Tri boasts of greatly enhanced graphics, as well as the expansion of the entire MH world. For the first time, you can hunt underwater aquatic beasts, on top of being able to enjoy online functionality for multiplayer. There’s also the split-screen co-op mode implemented, and a new Arena fighting mode.

Still no word on when US will be getting this monster of a jewel, though. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on that.
