We swear we were unable to locate this new character on the recently unveiled box of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War. We know you missed the character as well, so we’re posting new Famitsu scans now. The new character is a he and his name is Luso.

We don’t know anything much about Luso in reference to The Lion War, but we do know that he is the main character on the DS FF title, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimore. Accordingly, he is the one who found the Gran Grimore and eventually ended up in Ivalice. The scans reveal that he will continue to wield a broad sword in The Lion War, and keeps his job class as a “mob hunter.” We also hear that this character is afraid of ghosts.

As you all know, FF XII‘s Balthier will also make an appearance in The Lion War, and reports say that the two will eventually meet, and ultimately join the protagonist, Ramza. That’s about everything we know about this character for now, but if some you are able to read Japanese, you’re welcome to give the scan a thorough look and share what you’ve read.

FFT: The Lion War is an enhanced version of the PlayStation 1 (PSOne) version. Square Enix promised that aside from just porting the game, new content will also be added, such as cel-shaded full motion videos, as well as extra job classes. The game will be released in Japan on May 10 for ¥4, 800, or roughly around US$ 41.
