City Life: World Edition
, is a next-generation city simulation where players get to know what’s it like to be in The Donald’s or the Guvernator’s shoes. In the game from CDV Software Entertainment (they’re the same guys with Alien Shooter: Vengeance), players get to build and manage a living, detailed metropolis in real-time 3D. The gameÂ’s claim to fame includes highly realistic environments, reflection mapping, a tree engine, dynamic shadowing, and an immersion mode for first-person point of view as they advance through cities.

But City Life: World Edition is not some glorified Lego set. Putting up the infrastructure is just one part of the mission. Players must ensure they manage the cities’ finances properly. Equally important is making sure communities within their creations co-exist peacefully: the elite, the bobos, the suits, the fringe, the blue collars, and the have-nots.

Like your typical city father or mother, your list of headache-makers include providing jobs, housing, health, safety, education, the environment, and leisure activities. Failure to do so will generate conflict, cultural tensions, riots, bankruptcy, pollution, and burned-out neighborhoods.

The sequel to City Life, City Life: World Edition features over 100 new buildings, including famous structures such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower, the Kremlin, new maps, and a fully-integrated content editor. Players will be able to create or customize buildings within the game and share them online with other City Life: World Edition owners.
