Datel sued over wireless Xbox 360 controllers

Microsoft has put Datel in a legal hotspot once again. The latter has been sued in a Seattle court for infringing on Microsoft patents via their TurboFire and WildFire wireless controllers.

 

 

 

 

Microsoft has put Datel in a legal hotspot once again. The latter has been sued in a Seattle court for infringing on Microsoft patents via their TurboFire and WildFire wireless controllers.

 

The third-party controllers mostly look similar to official Xbox 360 controllers, and it seems the design and not the controllers’ inner workings are what Microsoft is targeting. Most of the patents mentioned in the suit touch on the controllers’ front design and button layout.

 

Microsoft is seeking an undisclosed amount for damages. The company is also asking for an injunction against the Datel products.
