dead_space_2_off_screenTwo new spinoffs are coming for the Dead Space universe, this was announced by EA. The first is a graphic novel to be titled “Dead Space Salvage”, while the other is a new animated film called “Dead Space Aftermath.

According to the press release, the graphic novel will be published by IDW and will feature the story of a group who comes across the abandoned Ishimura. Upping the action-adventure tones are the government agents and necromorphs. An interesting (and most likely, lethal) combination.

As for the animated movie, it follows the storyline of the Government plotting to send off an “unwitting crew” to the Aegis VII disaster site. The Government’s goal is to expose said “unwitting” folks to the “Marker shards” to produce “a viable Marker blueprint carrier, no matter the costs.”

Are you buying into these two? They’re expected to be out by winter, January 2011. Hopefully we’ll get more details before then.
