BioWare has sent out a press release with a few more additional details regarding Dragon Age 2.

First off, the player will control a character with the last name of Hawke, so it seems there’s no importing characters from the first game. You can choose whether to make the character a guy or a girl, though, and it looks like Hawke’s first name will be up to players, just like in Mass Effect.

Said executive producer Mark Darrah, “We are amplifying the things that made Dragon Age: Origins such a huge success while introducing a more dynamic combat system, improving the graphics, and telling the most important story in our world.”

Dragon Age 2 is currently set for a March 2011 release on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
