Dungeons & Dragons Online Weekly Development Activities

Dungeons & Dragons Online

Here’s another list of the possible enhancements for Dungeons & Dragons Online as part of the Twilight Forge Module. This list is subject to change so don’t expect everything to be included in the final update. Some of the new User Interface improvements include the following:

  • Additional Guild Names which will be visible under player names
  • Colors will help distinguish Party Member names from other players
  • Colors for names can be changed
  • Names in a configurable color will be for hostile monsters while the neutral or friendly monsters’ names will look like NPCs
  • “Accept Choice” is no longer mapped to the number pad enter key default to prevent players from releasing their body accidentally; existing players will have to change the setting on their own
  • Items will be highlighted (when being dragged over equipment slots) only if slots are compatible to the item

New features for NPCs include ensuring that players and NPC don’t get locked when a player recalls out during open conversations with an NPC, and alleviating a few quest NPCs by dungeon-based NPCs conversing with just one player at a time.

For Quests, party members will have to recall to a public space if they wish to leave their party while in a dungeon. Players will also be alerted that they’ll be leaving multiple quests if they attempt to abandon a story arc quest.

Other new improvements for Monsters, Spells, Items, Combat, and for the game in general are also included in the enhancements as part of the Twilight Forge Module.
