EA Mythic General Manager Mark Jacobs - Image 1Stealth options for character classes are usually standard issue for most fantasy-themed MMORPGs. EA Mythic‘s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), however, is a special case. In fact, WAR players have been particularly adamant about not having stealth in the game. Fortunately, EA Mythic head honcho Mark Jacobs took the time to explain things to them.

Jacobs has apparently put his foot down with regard to stealth in WAR, noting that it is not in the game and that he has “no intention of allowing it into the game.” What is in Warhammer Online, according to Jacobs, is the ability of certain lightly-armored classes to quickly close the distance between themselves and their opponents.

Furthermore, what appeared to have been a combination of stealth and ranged damage in WAR was apparently a beta test bug. Jacobs also intends to keep his word about taking out “any system or sub-system that I believe is a net negative in terms of RvR enjoyment.” Stealth is one of them.

On a different note, Jacobs stated that EA Mythic will be sending out more invites, but not at the moment. The reason is that inviting new beta testers in would only turn them into cannon fodder for the more experienced beta testers – definitely not a good idea.
