EA: No Star Wars:The Old Republic before April 2011

EA has already confirmed Star Wars: The Old Republic for a Spring 2011 release. Don’t expect it to come out at the start of that period, however.

 

 

 

EA has already confirmed Star Wars: The Old Republic for a Spring 2011 release. Don’t expect it to come out at the start of that period, however. In their Q3 earnings call, the publisher revealed that the BioWare-developed Star Wars MMO won’t be released before April 2011.

 

“We are not assuming that we bring a major new MMO to market in fiscal ’11. We will continue to increase significant development cost as we prepare this title for launch,” said EA CFO Eric Brown. Company CEO John Riccitiello further added that the costs involved in The Old Republic‘s development is gigantic, so don’t be surprised if the launch ends up in the latter half of next year.
