The folks at WorthPlaying was able to have a little chat with Senior Designer Eddy Cramm to talk about their upcoming multi-platform sports title, MLB 07: The Show. Among the noteworthy tidbits mentioned in the interview is Cramm’s assurance that there won’t be any delays for the PS3 version, and that they’re just about done with putting the finishing touches on the PSP and PS2 versions.

Here’s a rundown of some of the things discussed:

  • on what you can expect: Lots of improvements to animations, commentary, A.I., and also more accurate reactions of the bat meeting the ball
  • Road to the Show mode: Road to the Show revolves everything around the player; you’ll get to fast-forward to situations where your player is involved and you’ll also receive goals and tips from your coach. The camera angle is also optimized as its positioned behind the player to give you a view of what your virtual baseball-playing counterpart is seeing too.
  • Online League System: The online league system will be offered to all three consoles (PSP, PS2, PS3) via the SportsConnect technology
  • Adaptive Pitch Intelligence system: API is a new system that gives players useful suggestions regarding pitch type and pitch location. This new system also takes into account the pitcher’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as that of the batter.
  • On the PSP version: Cramm says, “I’d have to say that there is a little less depth in commentary, a little less variety in animations, and less detail in the models, but overall the MLB 07: The Show on the PSP is widely considered a fan favorite.”

Again, those are just some of the things discussed in the interview. If you wanna check out the full coverage, feel free to do so by clicking on the “Read” link below.
