As promised after the first release, PSP homebrew developer emericaska8r just dropped by the QJ.NET forums to bring us Egyptian Ratscrew version 2.0. Plenty of tweaks that came with the update make for more Egyptian Ratscrew-ing action. Commonly known as ERS, this card game is sure to deliver some quality slapping time.

If you haven’t heard of Egyptian Ratscrew, Rat Slap, Iraqi Rat Screw, Listen Up Jack, Egyptian Sewer Rats, or Rugrat, then you’re missing out on one of the better accumulation card games there is. The goal here is to hold the entire deck by the end of the game to be declared the winner. Learning will take some practice, so newbies would have to play a game or two.

For everyone who else who know the rules and anticipated this update, here’s the changelog:

  • Added more slapping variations, which may be turned on/off in the options menu
  • Added cpu difficulty levels, which may be changed in the options menu
  • Added slapping sounds, and graphics
  • Added random card placement when playing a card
  • Fixed minor bug when playing your final card

The game has always been rich in slapping variations, making the addition of more as a plus. With fresh ways to slap the pile and extra CPU difficulty levels to choose from, let those sewer rats loose! If you don’t want to screw up, make sure to read the Readme file for more details.
