Mark Rein - Image 1Rumors have been circulating that Microsoft will be purchasing Epic Games, the developers of Gears of War, for a cool US$ 1 billion. While this has yet to be confirmed by either organization, Epic Games’ president did have a few choice words about the issue.

In typical Rein fashion, he took these rumors in stride, saying that while he hasn’t seen the article about the predicted purchase, he and the people at his company would prefer if they started at US$ 2 billion. He justified this by saying, “We don’t want anyone thinking that we’re cheap.”

While this neither confirms or denies the rumor, his comments on selling the development studio show that its going take a lot of money for any company to get ownership of Epic Games.
