Euro price tag on PS3 now up on site

pricedFinally, something official from Sony. While we were grateful for the speculations as to the nearing European launch of the PS3 when everything else was quiet, it doesn’t hurt to get something that’s directly from the horse’s mouth.

And now that we’ve got the buzz on the official price of the PS3 for Europe, via Sony‘s official site, we can’t be too sure if we’re glad the news came out. The Irish version of the official site says that the 60GB version will be priced at € 629.99 (about US$ 814) – €30 more than what was previously announced.

As for the 20GB model, it also appears that it will be sold for €529.99 (around US$ 685), although, it will not be available “at launch” in Ireland.

Okay, so that was for the Irish site. As for the rest of Europe, we’re still waiting for the sites to be localized. And again, SCEE has yet to give its comment. But at least we pretty much have an idea now as to how much should European gamers save up for in two months. Keep it posted here for more updates.
