Europa Universalis hits stores AFTER holidays

eu3Paradox Interactive has just released more information about their epic strategy game Europa Universalis III, where you’ll get to engage in exploration, trade, warfare and diplomacy, and lead your own nation to become a great global empire.

This writer personally suspects that aspiring tyrants and dictators, as well as the more democratic wannabe-rulers, out there would really like this game. Why? Well you’ll get to run your own country! Which I bet a lot of you guys are secretly dreaming of doing, eh? Imagine being able to choose your own form of government, the social structure, trade politics, and much much more!

Oh, and you can even call on your ol’ buddies Sir Isaac Newton, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or René Descartes, to become advisors to your court. How epic and grandiose can you get huh? *grins* We’ve already given you guys some of the game features, but if you weren’t able to check out our previous coverage (or you did but you already forgot about it), this should refresh your memory:

  • Over 300 years of game play by starting at ANY date between 1453 and 1789.
  • A 3D topographic map for a complete worldview that contains more than 1700 provinces and sea zones.
  • More than 250 countries to lead during the gameÂ’s time span.
  • More than a thousand historical leaders and over 4000 historical Monarchs at your disposal
  • Manage more than 100 individual unit troops to secure as much power as possible
  • Co-operative multiplayer mode that allows you and your friends to work together and control a single nation
  • Complete customization, giving users the chance to customize and mod practically anything

So see, it doesn’t even matter whether you’re into history or whatnot, as long as you harbor those secret fantasies of ruling a country, you’ll get the drift of this game. Rated E and 12+ by ESRB, Europa Universalis III, as well as the game’s Collector’s Edition, will be shipping to North America stores on January 23rd next year, while Europe and Australia would have to wait just a little bit longer.

The Collector’s Edition will sell for a SRP of US$ 49.99 and will include a complete strategy guide, and other exclusive assets. The standard version will sell for a SRP of US$ 39.99.
