Europe gets Rock Band on PlayStation 3, PS2, Wii later than 360
A few days ago, Harmonix announced that the official release date in the UK for Rock Band‘s Xbox 360 version is on May 23. PlayStation 3, PS2, and Wii gamers in Europe need to wait a bit longer though: Harmonix has announced that those versions will be released months later, in August. More details in the full article.
Microsoft gets the upper hand in Europe with the release of Rock Band. Harmonix announced a few days ago that the Xbox 360 version will arrive in Europe on May 23. PlayStation 3, PS2, and Wii gamers have to wait a bit longer though.
According to Electronic Arts, the release date for the Sony and Nintendo platforms in Europe is on August 29, making the game an Xbox 360 exclusive for a good three months. On the other hand, Xbox 360 gamers will have to wait for longer before they’ll see deals and discounts for the game.
Europe gamers will have to endure a higher price for the game than the US version because of VAT and shipping. While we’ll naturally see prices go down over time, it’s not likely we’ll see it go down anytime before (and a good time after) the PlayStation 3 and Wii versions come out.
