Evolution revolution: screenshots, details for Cell Phase stage in Spore
Electronic Arts recently revealed some new visual assets to their latest life simulator title, nearly four billion years in the making (history-wise, anyway). In our full article, you can take a look at some new screenshots and details which reveal the first stage of evolution in the Spore (PC, Mac, DS, mobile phones) universe – the Cell Phase.
Approximately four billion years ago, the first single-celled organism appeared on Earth. There have been many theories how life began during that era; the delivery of this new lifeform via a meteor crash being the most popular one.
This was the same premise behind Electronic Arts‘ upcoming life simulator title, Spore. The Spore Team recently released some visual assets showing off the first stage of the game’s universe – the Cell Phase.
As a simple organism, dropped onto the planet by way of meteor express, you earn DNA and evolve into a meaner and leaner lifeform. Your goal at this stage is to feed on smaller organisms or algae while avoiding the larger, carnivorous organisms. Eventually, you’ll grown large enough to sprout legs and move into the next stage of evolution.
Anyway, you can enjoy the new visuals by clicking on the different thumbnails below. The game is set to be released this September 7 and will be released on the PC, Mac, DS, mobile platforms. Don’t forget to check back with us for more updates regarding Spore.
