Hey, Philadelphia residents. Ever ordered a game from GameFly only to never receive it? Maybe your package went through this guy.

Reginald Johnson, an ex-US Postal Service worker in Pennsylvania, has admitted in court that he stole 2,200 video games addressed to people in the Philly area. The thefts were committed between April and September 2008 and amounted to a value of around US$ 86,000.

Johnson was a mail-processing clerk who unloaded mail from tractor-trailers docked at the processing and distribution center in Philadelphia. The Postal Service’s Office of the Inspector General started receiving reports of missing GameFly packages in late 2007, and on September 5, 2008, they conducted a surveillance operation that incriminated Johnson.

Feds tried to arrest Johnson later that day but he jumped in his SUV and sped away. He was apprehended after he crashed his car and fled on foot carrying a duffel bag that was found to contain 81 GameFly mailings. A search of his SUV turned up a backpack that contained another 79 GameFly mailings.

Authorities found GameStop receipts in Johnson’s SUV as well. Looks like the guy was trading in the games.
