Online Team Play is a free downloadable feature that enables ten people on ten different consoles anywhere in the world to connect online and play a single match in FIFA 08. Five players, supported by AI teammates, can choose a team and take control of their own individual players for a head-to-head match against another team controlled by five other players.

Players can choose to play as a single, fixed player the entire game or with free roaming players. Teams can also have a combination of both.
