FIFPlay.com: EA Sports’ New Community Portal For FIFA Fans
Just as soon as they have finished the last coat of paint on FIFA ’07 for its fall release, EA Sports‘ thinking about what to do with FIFA 2008. And this time, they want to encourage you, the fans, to think some great stuff up for them. Sounds like a good idea, we wonder if they’ll do this for every game in the EA stable…
Ahem, er… back to the topic. EA Sports has announced FIFPlay.com, the community website for the FIFA series, as well as the FIFA Manager titles (which are, alas, so far only on the PC). It packs feature interviews and polls; it hosts its own bug-reporting form for game glitches, and an “Ask EA!” form for the curious or inquisitive; and – this is the star of the site (we’d type it out, but a picture’s worth a thousand words, right?):
FIFPlay is the brainchild of Schahryar Fekri, EA Sports’ Asian consultant and online editor for FIFA football. Back last year, he started an “Ideas for FIFA 07” thread in their official forum. More than one thousand posts flooded the thread as each fan wanted to give his or her piece to the game. If that bit of history holds true today, well he’s bound to expect a similar flood on FIFPlay.com.
