Final Fantasy XI: Special Task Force crackdown report

Final Fantasy XI - Special Task Force crackdown report - Image 1In Square Enix‘s Final Fantasy XI, the Special Task Force has been very aggressive in its efforts to ferret out and “banhammer” those conducting illegal transaction within the MMORPG.

The organization has recently given out specifics on its actions from September 24, 2006 to October 24, 2007. During that time frame, the Special Task Force had targeted players which have been using illegal scripts, hunters or farmers, and players who engage in real money transactions (RMT).

So far it looks like their efforts have been working with incidents of players violating the terms of service (TOS) going down. In more recent news, The Special Task Force has given word that it had just discovered a new kind of illegal activity which uses third-party programs against NPCs in the Southern Sand’Oria and The Pit.

To stop this, the Task Force introduced some counter-measures through the emergency maintenance. However, if the same problem occurs again, the team plans on resolving the issue with “edits to the game system and activities against user agreement violators.”
