Fooled by Microsoft

Last week we reported about the free Xbox Live Gold Weekend, where Silver members get all the benefits of the Gold Membership for 72 hours, to take place from April 1. Well it seems as though Microsoft did pull an early April fools joke on us afterall. According to the Gamerscore Blog (maintained by Microsoft employees) the whole thing was bogus. “The Xbox.com team pulled it down, because the dates were tentative, and details of the promotion still havenÂ’t been finalized.  We’ll share details as soon as we can” reads the blog.

So it’s not all bad, Microsoft is keeping their promise to provide free Xbox Live Gold weekends. They leave us with this bit of info: “As you might have guessed, it’s coming soon. ” We’ll update you with all the details as soon as we hear a marked date for this event.
