Freeworld: Apocalypse Portal Unveiled

In the not so distant past, we were once told of Freeworld, a small MMORPG that is being developed by MindSurge Entertainment. Now, after years and years of development, Mindsurge threw the whole thing out. Then comes Freeworld: Apocalypse Portal, a game that is not a sequel, not a redesign, and not at all related to the first Freeworld game.

In and interview with MMORPG.com, Mindsurge CEO Clyde Bielss tells us that Freeworld: Apocalypse Portal is a completey new game. It may have some similiarities with Freeworld but Mindsurge promised improved graphic quality and much different gameplay. “Everything from the combat mechanics and monster AI to the skills and quest systems are being rethought and implemented with new ideas.

Freeworld: Apocalypse Portal has many new things that are not normally seen in most MMORPG games, so it might take a little getting used to before you can totally enjoy the game. In the game, there are no level limits, no classes, and no classic fantasy or sci-fi monsters, but it does have hybrid real-time combat and skill leveling. The game will start off with three races: Tearen, the multi-skilled race; Sal`ruk, the warriors; and Kendric, the spellcasters. So the game still has the basic elements, after all.

Beills also talked about the player level and skills systems that may seem a bit radical for gamers who have gotten used to the usual role playing games. Read the complete interview and find out more about Freeworld: Apocalypse Portal.
