Games For Heroes: requesting handhelds for troops in Iraq, Afghanistan

Aside from hospitalized kids, it appears that another demographic is due for some gamer-loving – the U.S. Marines.

Founded by Peter Gallagher and Jack Wilson, Games For Heroes basically aims to send handheld video game systems to the U.S. Marines stationed in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

The console you send in doesn’t have to be brand new, so long as it works and comes with its batteries (and lest we forget – its charger). At the moment, the foundation’s goal is to collect a total of 10,000 handhelds, batteries, and games.
