GCDC 2007 to bring forth ‘new vision’ campaigned in GDC 2007

Since the success of the Games Convention Developers Conference members in their campaign for the “new vision” of the European market at the 2007 Game Developers Conference, Games Convention now aims to broaden the awareness and horizons of the gaming community by the next GCDC coming this August 20 – 22, 2007 at Leipzig, Europe“>Germany, with part emphasis on the education of new entrants to the North American and European games market.

Games Convention Developers Conference set for August - Image 1“We seized this opportunity to raise GCDCÂ’s profile in the North American market, as the leading meeting place for developers in Europe,” GCDC’s project director, Frank Sliwka, said. After discussions with the numerous international participants at the GDC, Sliwka claimed that the GCDC has risen to a noticeably significant reputation.

There are no other details yet as to the events that will take place at the GCDC, except that more conference rooms will be provided so more discussions can be held and lesser time between discussions are wasted. Speakers will be announced in the following weeks, but expect some speakers to come from the GDC line up, too.

The GCDC is Europe’s version of the Game Developer’s Conference and serves as the region’s premier platform for informing the game developer segment on what’s hot and what’s crucial to the region’s game industry progress. Themed “Upgrade the Future,” the entire conference will revolve in giving the industry a preview of the future of game development and business.

The GCDC 2007 rescheduled itself to get sandwiched between two other conferences slated for the second half of 2007, as the Games Developer Conference adopts an Austin prefix and jumps down to Texas for the Austin Game Developer’s Conference by September and the second Develop Conference & Expo will draft Peter Molyneux to its speaker line up at Brighton by late July.
