Geometry Wars on PS3 depends on Bizarre

Geometry Wars has captured a nice share of the Xbox 360 crowd with delightfully simple gameplay and easy to learn controls. Lately, it was announced that the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii platforms will have their own Geometry Wars in the form of Geometry Wars: Galaxies. This begged the question of when a PS3 version of the game will be made official.

CVG reports that they asked senior producer for the Wii and DS, Roger Carpenter, who in turn refused to confirm anything. He said that the franchise is Bizarre’s intellectual property. He later added, “ I can’t comment on what else they might do with it on other platforms.”

But he did say that Geometry Wars: Galaxies is exclusive to Nintendo platforms and will not be the ones that will end up getting ported to the PS3 if they ever get a piece of the franchise.

Considering the current trend in how third-party developers go about their business, it’s not unlikely that the buzz may hold some water at day’s end. We’ll update you if the Geometry Wars for PS3 fad ever gets off the rumor stage.
