God of War To Be A Trilogy?
After almost being shot down before it even gets out of the gates, God of War is starting to prove that it was worth a risk for Sony with the possibility of reaching a third installment. Sony Santa Monica creative director and first God of War director David Jaffe has just hinted that God of War may indeed be a trilogy.
“As Cory [Barlog, God of War 2 director] and I have said to the press, [God of War 2] is the second act of a bigger story. And when you are making a game, you never really know if the game will turn out good enough to merit another one in the series. But after last week, I can say I am very confident of our chances to be able to complete the GOD OF WAR trilogy. You never know, but that’s me just putting it out there,” says Jaffe.
If indeed a third God of War game is in the works, will it be safe to assume that it will be for Sony’s next gen console? After all, Playstation 3 is set to be launched late this year and it will be pretty much logical. But that’s just me — what do you think? Meanwhile God of War 2 will be out for Playstation 2 in 2007.
