GoW multiplayer problems: Players having difficulty finding ranked matches

You must’ve downloaded the Gears of War map pack the other day, and you must’ve thought about checking out the multiplayer mode just to chill and have some much needed R and R…only you ran into a problem. What’s news here is that everyone ran into that problem. It seems that whenever someone tries to search for a game, only one or two show up.

This problem first exploded onto the Internet when domtildeath1955 noted on Epic Games‘ Official Gears of War forums that he can’t find any ranked matches. Several folks chimed in with the same sentiment.

The intrepid folks at Joystiq decided to email Epic and ask for a response, but so far, no word. Others have commented that perhaps everyone just decided to stop playing in light of the Halo 3 Beta?

Anyhow, without official word from Epic on what’s really going on, all we can do is wait, and hope we can frag some other day.
