GT4 Will Rev Up for PSP

gt4Gran Turismo 4 Mobile developer, Polyphony Digital, denies rumors about them halting the development of the game for the PSP. According to PDI, the reports based on the translation of a Famitsu Weekly article that suggested that GT4 has been put on indefinite hold is utter rubbish.

According to a statement given by PDI to Eurogamer, they are even in a stage where a GT4 equivalent is now being run on the PSP hardware but that their main focus right now is on developing a Gran Turismo title and releasing it for the PS3. Furthermore, Polyphony Digital assured us that once they complete the GT for PS3, they will go back to developing the GT game for the PSP. However, we’ll have to stay tuned for further announcements about the details and the release date.

The GT4 Mobile was originally scheduled for release in Japan in late 2004, but was then moved back to spring 2005, and now…well, we’re still waiting. Is it because the game was announced before the PSP’s launch that’s why it seems like such a long wait? Nonetheless, we’ll still keep waiting for the GT4 Mobile to burn rubber on our PSPs, right?
