Guitar Hero 3 to jam with Gibson’s Les Paul

Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii owners who are currently rocking hard with Activision‘s Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be glad to know that their virtual rock god experience is about to get a bit more realistic. Activision and Gibson have announced a collaboration that will herald the 2008 arrival of wireless Les Paul six-strings designed specifically for the popular video game.

Players who are currently enjoying the mean riffs of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will get a nice surprise act early in 2008. Activision and guitar maker Gibson have announced that they’re working on wireless guitars for all three host platforms to jam with.

The Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii game consoles are due to get a Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock wireless guitar controller patterned after the popular Gibson Les Paul six-string model. This will enable more freedom of movement for players so they can look and feel like absolute gods of rock.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is the third installment of Activision’s rhythm and music game. Though original developer Harmonix has left the Activision fold, the franchise remains alive and well with some nice new twists and a retro motif.
