Gundam tops Japan sales charts

SD Gundam G Generation Cross Drive - Image 1Another DS game has scored the the top spot in top sales. For the week ending on August 12 SD Gundam G Generation: Cross Drive sold close to 138,000 units in Japan. It’s not Ace Attorney 4‘s 250,000 but that’s still a huge number.

Only one PS3 and PSP game managed to make it to Japan’s top 10: Minna no Golf 5 is at 6th place while Wild ARMs: Crossfire is at 7th. Two PlayStation 2 games made it too. Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac Job System is on 3rd place and J-League Winning Eleven 2007: Club Championship is on 5th.

The rest of the chart is dominated by Japan’s own Nintendo consoles, the Wii and the DS which both sports three games each at the list. Mario Party 8 (2nd,) Wii Sports (8th) and Hajimete no Wii (10th) made it for the Wii and Gundam, Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (4th) and Zelda no Densetsu: Mugen no Sunadokei (5th) made it for the DS.
