Halo 3 “Is Quisnam Protero Damno!” video documentary now available

So yes, the Halo 3 Beta’s in May. That’s like a wo0t to the nth degree of geekgasms. But have you checked the Xbox Live Marketplace yet? Sneaky with their helmets and unconfirmed Brute Shots, Bungie and Microsoft have brought everyone a new Halo 3 ViDoc (Video Documentary) for download. In light of the previous “Et Tu, Brute? Trailer,” the newest installment is now available for free, in high-def 720p.

Titled “Is Quisnam Protero Damno!,” this ViDoc concerns itself with working on the whole Halo 3 project, play tests, multiplayer maps and gameplay, player movement, an explanation of the mysterious X-button, weapons, and graphics, among a whole lot of other things. The designers, developers, artists, and software engineers all contribute their various input in this documentary. And if all that doesn’t interest you (you must be kidding right?! is there anyone who won’t be interested in that?!), there’s still loads and loads (and loads) of gameplay footage.

So before the Beta hits on May, you now have two options:

1. Go over to your 360 and download it… or
2. just click the play button below!

Regardless, even if you do decide to choose the first option download the vid yourself onto your console, you might as well start watching it already, right here, right now! We fished this right off of GameTrailers:

All of the game footage in this doc was taken during the Alpha stage and isn’t even representative of what you’ll see in the Public Beta, let alone the final game. You will see frame rate skips, unfinished animation and graphical features that will change come Fall. All the footage is clearly marked Alpha. YouÂ’re looking at the features here folks, not the final quality bar – which weÂ’ve set pretty high. Your next taste of that will be in May.
