Said the press release:
“Taken from the part of the game’s opening cinematic, the video provides the first look at the story of Halo: Reach, which introduces players to Noble Team, a squad of battle-hardened Spartan soliers. Halo: Reach charts the story of Noble Team in their heroic stand to defend the planet Reach, its people and secrets against a ruthless assault by an alien collective known as the Covenant.”
As for the multiplayer beeta, you’d be glad to know it’s dated for Spring 2010, and will be accessible exclusively through the Halo 3: ODST disc. We’ll bring you up to speed as more details emerge on this game. Bungie’s tweet promises more info to arrive not till mid-January, anyway.
