We’re now hearing more word about the supposed movie adaptation of the game thriller, Heavy Rain. Back in February, it was buzzed that New Line had optioned rights for the movie version. Now, it appears that the screen rights for it is practically a done deal.

The word now is that the deal is just about set to close with Unique Features, spearheaded by Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne. Wait, where in the picture is New Line Productions? As it turns out, Shay and Lynne actually came from New Line and just severed ties to put up their own.

They are now the ones pursuing the movie idea for Heavy Rain. In fact, it’s said that they want to do it so bad that they actually used their own money to bid in the auction held by CAA on behalf of Quantic Dream. Apparently, they won that bidding, and so the movie deal is practically set.

Maybe they’ve signed on the dotted line already? We’ll be out for more details on this as they come. A Heavy Rain movie adaptation is definitely something to look out for.
