Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball Wii
Konami recently announced that it will be bringing its Power Pro Baseball series to both the PS2 and the Wii this year.
As for details on the game, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals that Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball Wii will feature support for multiple controllers, and a “Remote Power” mode where you make use of the Wiimote for pitching and batting.
What’s nice is that online play for both PS2 and Wii versions of the game will be free.
Sadly though, IGN reports that the Wii version visually looks very much like its PS2 counterpart. They say this suggests that “Konami has taken the easy route with Wii development.”
Even more disappointing for those who dream of cross-platform fun, Wii players won’t be able to duke it out with PS2 players online. The PS2 version of the game however does support some form of link-up with the recent PSP title in the franchise, Power Pro Baseball Portable 2. There’s no word if the Wii version will feature some form of link-up with the DS.
Both PS2 and Wii versions of Powerful Pro Baseball will be released in Japan on July 19,k 2007. No word if it will be released in the US, however.
