Joytech Responds to LCD Critics

After news sites everywhere were posting about Joytech’s LCD Screen for the Xbox 360 with little enthusiasm, Joytech decided to go out and answer such remarks. Alex Verrey, the PR and communications manager for Joytech, responded to feedback about their product on the Xbox 360 Fanboy forums. Verrey had this to say:

1) The Monitor does NOT block any air vents to the console. It has been designed to avoid damaging the console in any way.
2) The Monitor is not deisgned to be portable (It has no In-Car Adapter). It is best used where space is at a premium.
3) The Monitor is VERY good quality. It is a TFT display and in terms of quality, it is on a par if not better than our PStwo 8inch Monitor that has scored many, many great reviews. Please don’t compare to our competitor’s models!
4) JOYTECH have NOT advertised nor led anyone to believe that this Monitor is Hi Def. It is NOT. Any website that is communicating the Monitor as High Definition is incorrect and doing so without the concent of JOYTECH. The Monitor does however produce a surprisingly clear picture however, perfect for it’s size. DVD’s look great through it as well. In the UK it is now available through Argos.

While his words are certainly comforting, hopefully reviews on this device will be popping up from a non-PR perspective. While we’d all like to believe that this screen offers near HD quality, we’ll just have to wait and see what the critics have to say about this.
