Level limit for WoW class forums? Blizzard sez no

WoW Forums should be open to all characters - Image 1World of Warcraft has been around for some time now, right? Imagine grinding around Azeroth and then all of a sudden, a level 1 player comes up to you and asks what an Imp is. We’re telling you, it happened to us and it’s a bit annoying. This also happens at the forums, and it’s a perfect way to ruin your day.

Apparently, the same dismay is prevalent among veteran European WoW players as the influx of newcomers continues. Some even brought the topic up at the game’s official community site and suggested if Blizzard Entertainment could implement a level limit for each class forum that requires you to have a level 50-70 character in that class to post.

Somewhat feeling exclusive, huh? Yep, Blizzard’s own Vaneras thought so as well. Trying his best to politely answer the queries, Vaneras commented that the suggestion is quite unrealistic and as such, against one of the main purposes of having the class forums:

One of the main purposes of the class forums is for people, who have just started playing a certain class, to seek help and advice from others who are more experienced playing said class. If low level players could not post in the class forums, then it would be much harder for them to get answers, feedback and input from other players of a higher level.

Vaneras admitted that threads like this, including those about nerfs, are annoying as well. He then conceded and said that putting class restrictions will not stop things like these from appearing. The only solution he’s suggesting now is to put these threads in the ignore list.

On a more level-headed note though, we guess higher level characters shouldn’t worry too much about newcomers. After all, they’re players, too.
